La Cage aux Folles star Kelsey Grammer will trade in the footlights of Broadway for the flashbulbs of reality TV, according to Variety, though he will stay behind the scenes. Grammer, who ends his run as Georges on February 13, has partnered with reality television maven Stella Bulochnikov-Stolper to form G3 Productions, which will focus exclusively on reality shows. Brian Sher, Grammer’s partner in his existent company Grammnet Productions, is also a partner, and G3 has in turn entered into a joint venture to develop series concepts and formats with distrubition powerhouse Zodiak USA.
"I knew that Kelsey loved this space and would love to pop some big shows," Bulochnikov-Stolper told the trade publication. "The idea that he would lend his name and brain and star power to working on some formats was so exciting to me, and then to have a partner like Zodiak to produce them and sell them all over the world—that's really going to produce some fireworks."
Grammer and Bulochnikov-Stolper are already working together on a political drama for Starz called Boss, which Grammnet is producing with Lionsgate TV, Sher and Bulochnikov-Stolper. Grammer, whose scripted television credits include Cheers and Frasier, is of course no stranger to the world of reality television. His wife Camille, from whom Grammer recently separated, stars in the latest incarnation of Bravo TV’s reality Real Housewives juggernaut, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, and Grammer makes appearances in several episodes.
